Coming from four generations of professional gardeners, I was raised in the walls of Werneth Park. My father trained under his father and I under mine. Working in our family business, I developed a solid understanding of all commercial horticultural practices by creating & maintainin exquisite gardens. In 2009 I decided it was time to deepen my botanical knowledge and embarked on a five year period of learning with some of the world most important horticulturalists & plants-people. Establishing myself as a global plants-woman.

I worked in a series of high profile UK gardens including Threave Estate, Barnsdale Garden, and Wentworth Castle Gardens. Here I honed my practical horticulture skills, whilst developing a real understanding of day-to-day garden management. Training in a range of skills and leader ship programs. But, it wasn't until I was accepted onto the prestigious Kew Diploma that I really began to consolidate my plant knowledge. Working at Royal Botanic Gardens Kew has defined my career and led me to this point. Then completing my PhD thesis in Women Working in Botanic Gardens Globally.

The Kew Diploma offers one of the most important botanical and horticultural education opportunities available. During three years I was immersed in the art, craft and science of plants and horticulture. Working with expert plantspeople and some of the worlds most important plant collections. I developed skills in a range of activities from collections management to aboriculture, garden design to plant propagation. Eventually moving onto a high profile career at the BBC.
